In the midst of the SARS epidemic, the Da Bei Temple, in Songzi (Hubei Province) held a 14-day-long 10,000 Buddha Penitence ceremony. The filmmaker jumped on the occasion to use his brand new DV camera to faithfully record the various situations of the penitents.
Zhang Min
Born in 1971 in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, Zhang Min was a weatherman until he enrolled in the postgraduate degree program in Scriptwriting at Beijing Film Academy in 1996. He quit in 1999 to teach and write, and has written screenplays for several animation programs for television. Temple Days is his first film.
