Documentaries have long been considered as an art form. In China, because of the limitations imposed by production costs and broadcast media, documentary film has been a less accessible, slightly highbrow medium of expression. WildChina Film’s mission is to bring documentaries to the people, for the people. By explaining the shooting, production and screening of a documentary, the spokesperson will introduce the new concept of ‘participatory screening’.

This film narrates how villagers from northwest Yunnan explore a great river in the Three Parallel Rivers region with the help of conservation organizations. By doing interviews, they discover the impact economic development will have on their lives.
